ADES stands for: Association pour le Développement de l'Energie Solaire. Association for the Development for Solar Energy.
ADES is a NGO (non-governmental organisation) and a non-profit organisation, producing solar cookers in Madagascar and encouraging the use of renewable energy.
ADES was founded in 2001 by Regula Ochsner, a Swiss citizen.
Aims of ADES
ADES has set its aim to offer the poor population of Madagascar an alternative solution, the solar cooker, to otherwise cooking with charcoal in order to contribute towards halting the deforestation process and thereby preserve the environment and fight poverty.
For these purposes ADES encourages also other options for the use of solar energy as generation of electricity as well as other renewable energies, such as wind energy and bio gas energy.
