In 2004 ADES opened the first centre in Tuléar with a carpentry shop, an office and sales rooms. Representatives of the local government attended the opening ceremony.
The Tuléar centre is equipped with its own photovoltaic and wind power stations, which produce most of the electricity needed. A well with a hand-operated pump supplies the workshop with enough water.
Meanwhile other centres have been opened in Ejeda, Morondava and Morombe.
In spring 2006 the buildings for the Ejeda centre were completed, they are also equipped with a photovoltaic power station to provide the electricity. The production and sale of solar cookers was taken up in May 2006, and the official opening ceremony – attended by the local government - took place in March 2007.
In 2008 the third centre was opened in Morondava, 300 km north of Tuléar. The workshop was established in a building rented by ADES.
The fourth centre was opened 2008 in Morombe, and in november 2011, the fifth centre in Mahajanga has opened.
Currently there are about 70 employees in our centres. ADES offers them fair pay and social security.
